Honor's Vocabulary One

Flourish – to grow luxuriantly, or thrive in growth

The company flourished even when James had strong doubts about the success.











Renegade – a person who deserts a party or cause for another.

It was really good to see someone make the renegade more accessible to an inexperienced soldier.

Repose – peace; tranquility; calm

I find my repose under a tree with a good book.

Stereotype – to give a fixed form to.
He also presents a stereotypical president since he is white, old, and rich.

Tundra - one of the vast, nearly level, treeless plains of the arctic regions of Europe, Asia, and North America.

The Arctic tundra was barren and cold.









Guerilla - a member of an irregular armed force that fights a stronger force by sabotage and harassment

The countries participated in a violent guerrilla warfare.

Symbiosis -A relationship of mutual benefit or dependence

People and trees live in symbiosis, mutually benefiting from each other.

Tariff -an official list of the duties or customs imposed by a government on imports or exports.

Eligible students may choose to receive the tariff reduction instead of the Scholarship.

Tempo -rate or rhythm of activity; a pace

The rapid tempo of the song made a good dance beat.

Tranquility -quality or state of being tranquil; calmness; peacefulness; quiet; serenity

The tranquility of being on top of the mountain had a quiet calming affect on me.

Tumult -violent and noisy commotion or disturbance of a crowd or mob; uproar

The speech given on abstinence caused great tumult among the students.

Unanimous -of one mind; in complete agreement; agreed

By an unanimous vote of 100 to 0 Jacky became the new president of High Tech High International.
